With Le Territoire, Yolande Bashing imagines a strange but familiar world: an office lost in
the countryside, a forgotten plant, a fictional company where employees follow rules without
really understanding or choosing them. Yolande is one of them. He composes the soundtrack to this
absurd universe, an electric and disenchanted music. A singular figure on the new French-speaking scene,
Yolande Bashing mixes French pop songs, techno bursts and punk mantras
in a bittersweet trance. His discordant revolution summons Claude François and Jean-
Pierre Pernaut to a sad party in a forgotten betting shop, between contained rage and biting lucidity. There’s a touch of
Bertrand Belin who has listened too much to Stromae, a taste for the diagonal of emptiness, a poetry of
modern boredom that dances despite everything. Since Les Inouïs du Printemps de Bourges in 2019
to his remarkable appearance on France Inter (Côté Club), the duo has electrified the stage with
dissonant synths, dancefloor kicks, and high-voltage punk energy. Festivals and venues throughout France and
beyond (Nuits Secrètes, Reeperbahn, Petit Bain, Supersonic…) have welcomed this intense and theatrical performance
. With Le Territoire, Yolande Bashing continues its frenetic celebration of
contemporary melancholy. Between raw lucidity and unstoppable melodies, it signs a manifesto for
the anti-heroes of a world going round in circles.
