Hot Bodies is the musical project of Gérald Arev Kurdian (This is the hello monster!, FAIR 2010, Paris Jeunes Talents Award), a Franco-American songwriter, performer, shape-shifting DJ, and mother of ceremony behind the Hot Bodies Club parties and the Hot Bodies Choirs.
After lighting up clubs and experimental stages across Europe, Hot Bodies now returns to the generous immediacy of pop with a new EP, “Digital Fairy / Folk Songs” (Hot Bodies of the Future / PIAS), produced in collaboration with Don Turi (Jeanne Added, Chien Noir, Barbara Pravi, etc.). The result is a blend of twilight cold wave, synthetic songwriting, and folk-infused melodies.
In this first release, voice, bass, and electronic textures unfold into intimate, DIY-driven tracks, featuring the contribution of fellow artist Chapelier Fou (Seeming).
Hot Bodies reconnects here with the evocative power of original protest songs as well as with sensual, collective celebrations.
With this new chapter, Hot Bodies sparks a fresh flame, fueled by past experiences, and reveals the singular purity of their creative vision.
