Six years of a relationship, six songs, six ways to tell someone to stay.

This is Six, the first EP of a young man who can do it all, including baring the fragments of his heart, armed only with a

velvety voice and intoxicating melodies: Innocnt.

Born in Paris, Antoine Innocent grew up in a cosmopolitan home: on one side, his mother, the first to be born in France from

a Romanian family, and on the other, his father, originally from Haiti, who left at the age of 20 to try his luck as a singer in the

United States. Until adolescence, Antoine followed his father on tour, becoming familiar with stages and backstage life.

Humble yet demanding, Antoine’s father also invited him to share the microphone on stage. After spending some time in

Ottawa, to be closer to his father’s career, his mother decided to settle in Brussels, which became her son’s adopted city.

Antoine dabbled in musical theater and sang alongside his sister in high school… But he knew music wasn’t something

innate: “it’s also the result of a lot of hard work.”

Antoine challenged himself in a tiny home studio, more like a basement. Learning to place his voice in the microphone,

accompanying himself on guitar, writing songs, all while continuing his studies… Just as he was ready to dedicate himself

fully to his art, the pandemic hit. Faced with a culture now deemed non-essential, and doubting his own maturity,

Antoine hesitated. However, the call of music proved stronger.

It took a few seasons to shape Six, an EP born from a breakup after an intense relationship Antoine went through. His first

great love. Between haunting ballads and fierce uptempo tracks, each song in Six evokes the departure of the other, except for

“Good Bye,” where the narrator finally decides to end things. His influences resonate throughout – from country to soul,

R’n’B to rock ‘n’ roll. “I have to be on stage with my heart wide open, unafraid to share my wounds, and I hope it’s the same

for those who listen to me,” explains Innocnt.

No worries: while listening to Six, you reconnect with your own emotions.
