Adrian Crowley has just released his captivating single Tangled on the brand new Valley Of Eyes Records label. The mysterious track is produced by John Parish and features vocals by Nadine Khouri. Of Tangled, Crowley says: ‘I see this song as a kind of restless wandering through a pre-dawn neighbourhood; and a plunge into the shadowy realm of an insomniac mind, when nocturnal creatures still prowl, and ruminations and feverish thoughts settle in until morning comes. This song was almost lost. The morning after it was written, the distractions of the day took me away from it for a while and it was duly forgotten. But one evening, while preparing the new album, I found it again.

With time stretched out, inhabited silences and the elegant tightrope walking of a game constantly oscillating between light and shadow, Nadine Khouri’s music captivates with the strength of its evocative power and the unsettling beauty of the atmospheres it creates. Her second opus, “Another Life” (Talitres, November 2022), was written in the seclusion of confinement, but is profoundly marked by the crises affecting the world. The intimate rubs shoulders with the universal in perfect harmony, carried by a deliciously warm and sensual voice, a suspended, vibrant and eternal song that invites us to travel through the artist’s multiple lives, ultimately guiding us towards ourselves.
