Costa has burst onto the music scene like a paving stone in a shop window, and he’s one of the most striking figures on the contemporary rap scene.
As well as his hard-hitting flow, uncompromising lyrics and radical aesthetic, Costa‘s approach is characterised by his political commitment. The native of the 14th arrondissement sprinkles his music with militant references, affirming his membership of the Antifa milieu and his proximity to the world of ultras. Deeply rooted in reality, his lyrics depict the day-to-day life of a true ‘22 parisien’, rolling his hump in the four corners of Paris, proudly asserting his autonomy: ‘Ni assistant, ni assisté ’.
Violence, Culture, Sport & Fashion is Costa’s latest project. It’s a raw, real, authentic project, released last November, on which he invites Jungle Jack, Edge, okis and Bakari. Like a counterpoint to the elitist norms which, in their own way, generate violence, his twelve tracks paint a portrait of the human being, in all its breadth, while defining his own culture: that of the street, of commitment, of the stadium too.
Costa will be in concert at La Boule Noire in Paris on 25 May.
