Danish singer and songwriter eee gee, real name Emma Grankvist, was rejected six times from the Danish Conservatory of Music before making her debut in 2021 with the single ‘Favourite Lover’ through Australian independent label Future Classic.
In February 2022, her debut album, ‘Winning’, was released to praise from Soundvenue, Politiken, GAFFA and Berlingske, confirming its position as one of the best albums of the year. International attention has also focused on eee gee and her unique songwriting talent, with The Guardian, Clash magazine, Rolling Stone UK, BBC6 and Spotify EQUAL recognising her as a rare talent in her field.
This summer, she took part in 12 international festivals, from Lollapalooza in Berlin to The Great Escape in the UK. Meanwhile, eee gee enjoyed a busy Danish festival season, performing at the Roskilde Festival and Smukfest for the second year running. With the release of her second album, SHE-REX, on 1 September, the stakes were naturally high. However, the album has received five- and six-star reviews, solid radio support, ambitious streaming figures and an announced international tour, confirming what her debut album, ‘Winning’, hinted at: eee gee is a singer in her own right.
