Born in East London to Nigerian parents, 24-year-old Essosa began releasing music in 2021, inspired by artists such as Janet Jackson, Mary J. Blige and Erykah Badu.
Her nostalgic R&B track, “Waste My Time”, released in 2023, went viral on TikTok, amassing over 70 million streams and more than 250,000 remixes on the platform to date.
Essosa quickly garnered support from artists such as Kaytranada, Missy Elliott, Kali Uchis, Tay Keith and Flo, and appeared on the US platform On The Radar in 2025. Having made a name for herself with her warm voice and her ability to pay tribute to the greats of R&B, she recently supported Rochelle Jordan on her world tour, which took in the US and Europe. Furthermore, 2026 got off to a flying start when Essosa’s vocals were featured on Don Toliver’s album “Octane”, which reached number 1 on the Billboard charts.
Essosa is now focusing on her own project, with the release of her EP “Crush!” scheduled for April this year. This release will also be accompanied by the announcement of headline concerts in San Diego, Paris and at the Jazz Cafe in London.
