La Boule Noire & On The Road Again.
GA-20’s primitive, original music is inspired by the blues, R&B and rock ‘n’ roll of the late 1950s and early 1960s. They use rare and vintage equipment (including the famous Gibson GA-20 amplifier after which the band is named), creating a powerfully raw and driving sound that is both traditional and refreshingly modern. The band’s dynamic self-written songs sound and feel as fresh and real as the old blues they love and perform, including songs by Otis Rush, J.B. Lenoir, Howlin’ Wolf, Junior Wells and especially their favourite, Hound Dog Taylor.
GA-20 has taken to the road the hard way, performing live at every opportunity, gaining new fans in every club, concert hall and festival they’ve played from coast to coast. Now GA-20 are unleashing that timeless, low and dirty music, making it breathe and live as powerfully today as it did back when Hound Dog Taylor was breathing fire.
Their unique sound is the result of the perfect harmony between guitar, harmonica and drums, and their energy on stage is infectious. GA-20 are one of the most exciting and exciting blues bands to see live, their sound is both respectful of the blues tradition and incredibly modern and fresh.
