Gen is gradually emerging as one of the most promising talents on the new French rap scene.
After capturing attention with his Dog Day EP released last summer, Gen follows up and confirms this with the hard-hitting “Gennifer”, a musically dense six-track album whose main theme is a love affair that unfolds through a unique narrative.
He will defend this project on stage for his very first concert on September 12, 2023 at the historic Parisian venue La Boule Noire.
The music is direct yet subtle. The Parisian rapper’s lyrics straddle the line between introspection and analysis of the world around him, fitting into a proposal that is resolutely modern and unique, yet in keeping with the broad heritage of French hip-hop. Drawing on a rich musical palette nourished by eclectic influences that include Detroit instrumentals and electronic sounds, Gen’s music is always a blend of styles, but never one of compromise.
