Glüme concert cancelled for health reasons. Press release from the artist:
“Touring is my true outlet and I’m so grateful that despite challenges with chronic illness – I want to make it clear to my fans that my health has always been aided rather than hindered by performance – live performance lifts me in more ways than I can explain. Unfortunately, a lot goes into touring and for financial reasons outside of my control – unfortunately, the upcoming tour won’t be able to happen. It’s tough out there for artists to put on a show – I appreciate your support and hope to be back soon”
Tickets will be fully refunded.
Glüme wants it all.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, it all started with a Judy Garland biopic. When six-year-old Glüme overheard her parents arguing about money, she knew what had to be done. If Dorothy Gale from The Wizard of Oz could become a star and buy her parents a house in the real world, so could Glüme. She stopped going to school, started taking dance lessons and auditioning.
Baby Glüme landed roles in 102 Dalmatians, Kingdom Hearts and a Hayao Miyazaki film, but her airy voice and melancholy aura weren’t exactly what Disney Channel was looking for. There were all these happy, girl-power albums, but they were all written by men. The men were telling me, “You’ve got to be more powerful, more uplifting. I don’t have any of that to say.”
Glüme hears Chromatics on Spotify Shuffle. Immediately, she knows that Johnny Jewel’s production is the only way to translate the music in her head to the outside world. Her years of experience as an actress gave her enough contacts to meet the president of Warner Brothers and Rihanna’s lawyer, but she couldn’t find Johnny Jewel. Then, as luck would have it, Glüme found herself in intensive care for two weeks. After dozens of tests, she was diagnosed with Prinzmetal’s angina, a rare heart condition. It was as if a door had closed.
