Influenced by bands like Grand Blanc, Feu! Chatterton, and Black Country New Road, the Lyon-based band Hôtel Particulier has made a name for itself in recent seasons by drawing as much from the storytelling of French chanson as from the progressive structures and textures of contemporary rock. Their songs unfold slowly, creating a space to inhabit—a kind of “chamber indie rock.”
