Met on a film set, Sophie Verbeeck, lyricist, singer and actress of Belgian origin, and Bernard Tanguy, director, composer and musician (under the name BT93) formed the musical duo Hum Hum in 2019.
Guided initially by Frédéric Lo, known for his collaborations with Daniel Darc and Pete Doherty, Hum Hum produced an EP “Blueberries” then in 2021 a first LP, “Traversant”, in an electro-pop-rock vein that looks towards the 70s , recorded with talented musicians, including François Poggio and Marcelo Giuliani (both on Etienne Daho’s tour).
The second album, “Le prince de Cendres”, scheduled for September 13, 2024, confirms the 70s prog-rock influences, sometimes with a touch of techno. Carried by Sophie’s lyrical voice and the use of real instruments that mix with the machines, including a violin, a viola and a trumpet, this new opus delivers original, authentic and evolving French pop.
