Love at first sight, and then romance as a way of life, Metro Verlaine is above all a story of passion.
Founded in 2013, after a trip to London that left scars and a nasty taste of lose at the back of the throat, Metro Verlaine’s story is that of a duo. Axel on guitar and Raphaëlle on vocals lock themselves away in a small apartment in Ebro to work day and night. The compositions are refined and the minimalist drum machine becomes an asset for the duo. Lovers of first-wave post-punk and the wild CBGB’s scene, Metro Verlaine are gradually refining their musical identity.
After a spring/summer 2022 French tour, Raphaëlle and Axel got back to writing
for a third album, entering the studio once again with producer Charles Rowell, this time at Quiksilver studios in St Jean de Luz. To date, the album POP SAUVAGE has been recorded, mastered and is ready for pressing, for release on February 9, 2024.
