POPULOUS

Populous is the project of Andrea Mangia, a producer and composer from Salento in southern Italy. Lulled by the sounds of nature and nurtured by cutting-edge electronic influences (Warp, Mille Plateaux, Basic Channel), since 2000 he has been developing a singular signature blending global rhythms, ambient textures and raw emotions. His universe veers between introspection and celebration, with a focus on questions of identity, community, love and queer joy. He has also created soundtracks for Gucci, Vivienne Westwood and Missoni, creating a sound aesthetic that is as free as it is refined, somewhere between dancefloor and contemplation.
