Simon Bijaoui & the Swinging Blackbirds is a Parisian power trio whose music blends psychedelic rock, jazz and soul, carried by poetic lyrics touching on space, nature and Simon’s nocturnal dreams.
Rooted in the rock of the 70s — which they seek to refresh and modernize — they approach every concert as a blazing journey, weaving together hushed vocals, hazy intros and moments of sheer madness driven by explosive solos, building towards a total communion with the audience.
Following the acclaimed EP Girl From the Beyond, the band is now ready to take a new step with the release of their debut album, I’m a Bumblebee, What Are You?, out June 5th — which they will celebrate with a release party at La Boule Noire on June 18th.
