Hailing from the coffee shops and concert halls of Montréal’s iconic Mile End borough, mod-rock trio 2120 have quickly amassed a loyal following through their life-affirming fusion of classic psych-pop nostalgia and soul-bearing R&B confessionals. Formed in 2015 in Sherbrooke, QC, and later relocating to Quebec’s cultural epicenter in Montréal, Maxime and Gabriel Blackburn’s brotherly musical telepathy provides a richly-orchestrated foundation upon which singer Billy St. Onge delivers bold and passionate performances, the likes of which few contemporary 70s revivalist bands could hope to offer. 2120 embodies their classic pop connoisseurship from head to toe; donning sharp suits and Beatle boots on and off-stage, their natural authenticity has captivated music lovers all over Quebec.
2120’s songwriting sophistication and invigorating live performances earned them a collaboration with renowned producer Jace Lasek (Arcade Fire, SUUNS, Patrick Watson), which yielded their debut album, “2120 In Spectacular Physical Health” (2022). Critical acclaim for the release underscored Billy St. Onge’s voice and presence on the record, drawing comparisons to James Brown and David Bowie (Amélie Revert, Canal Auditif). In the two years following their debut album’s release, the band evolved from sold-out shows at all of Montréal’s most beloved venues towards increasingly larger-scale arenas. In the summer of 2023, the group performed at the massive Festival d’été de Québec in the province’s capital. That same winter, the group performed in the heart of downtown Montreal’s Quartier des Spectacles for a Christmas market residency.
Having dazzled audiences across Quebec, the group set the international music scene in its crosshairs. Spring 2024 saw the group undertake an extensive tour across France, playing shows in Paris, Bordeaux, Paimboeuf, and Marseille. Despite minimal exposure to Parisian audiences before stepping off the airplane, the response was so overwhelmingly positive that the show promoters of Paris’ iconic Sub Pigalle invited the group back for a victory lap of sorts, a second last-minute show before their tour’s conclusion. Keeping up their momentum in the French scene, the band returned in Fall 2024 for an second tour, adding to their growing fanbase in Lille, Brussels, Strasbourg and more, and playing two sold out shows in Paris at the renowned Point Éphémère and La Maroquinerie. Their 2nd awaited LP is set for release in 2026, with singles dropping as soon as January 2026.
