For this new RDV, the Boule Noire will sound resolutely jazz, but will also swing to the beat of borrowings from hip-hop culture, UK sounds (jungle, trip-hop) and Afrobeat; all the while feeding off North African, African and Mediterranean influences.
What do the three projects presented tonight have in common? A skilful blend of electronic music, through the use of machines, analog or otherwise, and live music, however rich and diverse it may be.

Starting in April, La Boule Noire inaugurates a format as yet unseen on the Parisian night scene: 𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐅𝐄𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄, a monthly 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐬 series 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 thought up as a 𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐮 𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐛.
On May 7, La Boule Noire invites the duo Blue Lab Beats, made up of keyboardist NK-OK (Namali Kwaten) and guitarist Mr. DM (David Mrakpor) and their improvisation- and sample-based electronic jazz, influenced by hip-hop, jungle and trip-hop.
In 2019, the collective successively released the Vibe Central EP with contributions from Theo Croker and Jodie Abacus, followed by the Voyage album, featuring musicians from their circle. Their latest album, Motherland Journey, released in 2022, pays homage to the daring musical quest of its protagonists, overcoming challenges and venturing beyond established genres.
